Notre Dame

This is a watercolour I did this afternoon, memorialising the tragedy of the Cathedral of Notre Dame fire. As an architect and as an artist it really struck a chord.

My source image was something I saw on a video on Global News, when the camera turned to the altar, and the cross was still standing, smoke all around, and the light which was so theatrical and surreal.

Cathedral of Notre Dame, Paris
21 x 24 cms

As long as there is light, I will paint it.

Re: Notre Dame

it's always hard to look at distruction, but painting it can bring back memories.

Re: Notre Dame

What a beautiful yet tragic scene. You've captured the destruction and the beauty of that moment. Well done!

Hey John

This sums it all up better than anything I've seen or read; Great!

Re: Notre Dame

ideas is like the stars in Heaven, just grab one and hang on and if it do not work out grab another one
