Re: MTM Classroom - Trees & Foliage

I am painting on acrylic paper and I got no idea about mounting whatsoever so I was just going to pack it between some cardboard, the same as I post out my pencil drawing commissions. One went to Sweden like that and no problems with it.
If that is not going to work, I am all ears here for ideas

Re: MTM Classroom - Trees & Foliage

Hi Bryan, Welcome to the forum.
And thank you for posting this photo, great photo and very interesting bark.
That was really nice of you!

Jesslyn, you can use whatever you want as a support. Acrylic paper, watercolor paper, canvas paper or small panels, whatever works. And actually I think just putting it between cardboard should work fine. Have fun cutie!

Hugs,
Elaine

Awesome, thanks. There are 9 little wc cards stretching their little hearts out as I type this. Next up: 9 references.

I love that bark photo Bryan! Does it just shred like that on its own, or is there some animal that rips it off? (bears, maybe?)

Re: MTM Classroom - Trees & Foliage

Welcome Bryan - thanks for the tree to add to the forest!

Jesslyn - I'm using mountboard (matboard), gessoed, 5x7.

Don't bother mounting any work - if anyone wishes to frame later they'll be able to choose a size siuted to the frame

Should be in bed - still coughing .... how's your cough Michelle?

Night-night

Re: MTM Classroom - Trees & Foliage

Morning Everyone! It's sunny and bright here; a great day to get outside and paint; now all I need is some extra time! I hope all who have been ill are doing better by now.

Welcome Zing! I love your tree and bark photo, and pretty timely too since we have had lots of words and little tree-related eye candy lately. Thank you!

Jessilyn - I'm doing my trees on watercolor paper, at least the ones so far. I wouldn't even know how to mount them on something so guess I'll be sending just the paintings.

Until later,

Elizabeth

Re: MTM Classroom - Trees & Foliage

Hi Noodle,
I just got pictures back of my twin live oak. Thought you might enjoy seeing.
The pics are not very good for detailed sketch.
I have been lurking and hope everyone is getting over the "stuff"
The weather is great here in north Texas.
Everyone have a wonderful week.
Regards,
Gmaw Linda
