No! I'm not finished! And my "good starts" might not be quite as far along as some might expect!

I better clarify....I've sketched my basic shapes in, got the first coats of my background and I'm getting the fruit ready to be.....well, fruit.

Well, for better or worse I think I'm done, key word being THINK!, It may change before the 20th though, can't wait to see everyone elses work.
We have just decided to go home for a week at Christmas to Tennessee, My Mum-in-law lives in a home overlooking a beautiful lake, so I will set up my easel on her back deck and do my first Plein air painting! I'm very excited!

Hey we don't have to wait fo pics, here's a couple pics I had on my space! the sunset is at Fort Patrick Henry Lake (Mother-in-laws house) and the wake boarding picks are with my frind Greg and family on South Holston lake, up in the mountains, (I've been in that lake in Feb, freezing )

About to hurt myself!

Sorry about the amount of pics, but here's one more, an early morning trip over to north Captiva island off the coast of Ft Myers Florida, Gods pallette.

Well This Glazing Thing Is Really Getting To Me. Either I Don't Thoroughly Understand It Or I'm Just No Ready To Learn Something New.

I'm Doing My Still Life On A 8x10 Cardboard Covered Canvas (i Use These For My Learning Exeriences) The Smallness Is Getting To Me Also, I'm Used To Painting On Big Spaces Like 16x20...i Think Later I Will Try Glazing And Blending On That Size Maybe I'll Be Less Uptight.

Thanks For Telling Me Where The Mtm Article Is....i Put That In My Favorites.....lots Of Info...i Have Learned Alot.

Now, If I Can Get My Pic Downloaded On The 20th (i'm Having Trouble With This. It's Not Wc It's Me I'm Afraid) I'll Be Happy.

Later,

Virginia

Yes the table cloth has almost beat me!!!!! this is tough, and I need help glazing also Texas Tabby, do you use a glazing medium?? I've just been using some gel retarder with sometimes good results, the reflections on the wood, or actually, the woodgrain running through them was tough for me.

Oh I know Dee, that reflection is the worst part. I ended up scumbling back and forth with white and black until I decided it was good enough, lol.

Anyway, I'm half done. For once I won't be doing this at the last minute.

I'm putting mine up for a few days. I'm just getting too frustrated with it...and that's not a good way to paint.

Re: DIFFERENT STROKES, A Forum Project:November '08

Dear Jezurus: I Use A Glazing Medium. I Have Never Blended Or Glazed Anything Before, But I Love Pictures That Have Been Glazed. Maverick Did A Lesson On Glazing Apples And Were They Beautiful. It Was A Good Lesson But When I Try I Am So Used To Just Painting It's Hard For Me To Be Patient. And, I Don't Know When Or How Many Layers Are Enough!!!

My Glass Apple Sort Of Looks Like A Glass Apple....purely By Accident I Think!! But We'll See When I Post My Image. I Am Having Trouble Posting But I'll Keep At It Until I Succeed On The 20th. I Guess We Can Not Upload Any Sooner.

I Am Almost Done With My Image....got To Detail The Table Cloth Yet.

Looking Forward To Sharing And Seeing What Others Have Done.

Virginia
