Cross posted from Watercolor forum:13.5×21.5 watercolor on Langton 140 lb cold press paper, inspired by the thousands of wild prickly poppies growing around here. Background is Daniel Smith’s Nickel AzoYellow, alizarin crimson, and phthalo blue primaries. Shadows on the wildflowers’ white petals were mixed with several palette colors for varied greys.
