Re: New York City
After a lot of thought and some help from a very good woodworker, I have finished framing this painting.
I knew that I wanted the wood to be apple wood (for NYC) but I found that it is really not an incredibly straight grained wood. I was lucky to have a friend who does a lot of tree work and he had some dried apple wood that gave me enough wood to make the frame. From there I really wanted the backdrop to be cement. I found a special cement that dries underwater and figured if it could do that, it would stick to anything. The thin coat behind the blade is the result. I also used the reflection control museum glass again on this one. I have really fallen in love with the stuff!
OK, on to the next one!!
