Hi I Haven’t posted here in a long time. this is a painting of a painted bunting done a while back acrylics on board 9″x 12″ thanks for looking. Have a question does anybody know how to pick out colors on a reference photo I see Jason morgan do it on you tube but I need from beginning to end instructions I have a Mac and latest photo shop. just can’t seem to drag those colors out on the boarders. thanks Craig Lomas.

Step 1: Make sure you use the eyedropper tool to select the colour you want by clicking it. Make sure that the colour box in the bottom left hand colour changes to the colour you have selected from the image.

Step 2: Now that you have the colour selected, use the paintbrush tool to draw a line from the section of the image and draw a thicker circular area at the end for your colour swatch. The paintbrush tool should draw in whatever colour you selected using the eyedropper tool. Make sure you check the colour in the bottom left hand corner to ensure it is the one you selected.
Hope this makes sense.
