Cemetery Path
This is a cemetery path at Mount Moriah (where Wild Bill and Calamity Jane are buried). It's a lovely place, if you're ever in South Dakota near Mount Rushmore. It's very hilly. Seth Bullock, the sheriff is buried at one of the highest points of the cemetery. It's quite a walk up. The path gets smaller and bigger and it's dirt to boot. I quite liked it though.
Acrylic, 4x6.

Re: Cemetery Path
Thank you both so much, your comments made my day.
I had a little epiphany about light. Instead of painting objects with light, I tried to paint the light as an object if that makes sense. I've been reading for years how people should paint lights but something finally clicked into my hard head so now I'm practicing making paintings with better lighting.

Re: Cemetery Path
It is completely paying off, my very first impression when I opened up this thread was how great the lighting is. You can nearly feel it!

Re: Cemetery Path
Virginia, I am gonna have to try acrylics on an ATC I haven't used acrylics much. I always think of high school art, where we used temprea paints and acrylics ( I think they were invented about then!). I like all of yours, they look so painterly. I would love to find this path and use it! Kurlie 8-)

Re: Cemetery Path
Thanks all, this is up near Mount Rushmore. It is beautiful but the climb is not for the faint of heart or shaky of ankle.
I really like acrylics, they are much better quality then the high school ones, the ones at my school always seem to smell as if they were growing mold (which they could have been). Now the acrylics have the qualities of oil without the smell.

Re: Cemetery Path
I would like to walk that path between those wise trees and perhaps stay and sit a while. I like a painting that makes me feel like that. It is very nice. Ady
