Smile QDC - our Quick-Dry-Cafe ..... come chat!

A new day, a new month and a New Year! Welcome to 2920!

I think for some, the year is already 24 hours old, so hope everyone had a good time bringing in the New Year!

If you have a hangover, plenty fresh water on tap and coffee to help!

Any resolutions of good intent to share?

Anyway, to all my friends here, hope this year brings health and contentment ...

🍸🍸

OOPS!!!! Check the year above .... should be 2020 ...... my marbles are somewhere, I hope! ,,

M, please don’t do that to me but hey I am 900 years closer to retirement.

It is Maddie's birthday today. I thought he was going to turn 23 but I hunted out his papers of sale only to discover he is 26. Another time warp

I god! I slept for NINE HUNDRED YEARS! I thought it was a good long rest but!

Happy New Years!

Yeah Carol, all horses have the same birthday- January 1. To get more accurate they may be called "long" or "Short" depending on when they were born in the year. A horse born on December 30 will turn 1 year old a few days later however, they would be called "A short yearling".

If they sleep like I do they may be a very long yearling!

Re: QDC - our Quick-Dry-Cafe ..... come chat!

Happy New Year everyone! The New Year is barely 12 hours old on the west coast. Still feels "new".

I don't want to think what this poor old planet would be like in 2920. one year at a time!

Resolutions? I am not one for N.Y. Resolutions, but I will continue on with my retirement resolutions which were to see more of friends, paint more, travel more, read more, sleep more, walk more and worry less. So far I have kept all of them, except the travelling (but discussions are underway)! So I feel confident I am on the right path.

Very rainy and windy here last night. The New Year blew in with a gale. We were watching the countdown from Seattle and they had to cancel the Spaceneedle fireworks, which was a disappointment.

Discussions about that are underway for us as well. Can’t decide if leaving the country is better than staying this year. We have a huge list of places we want to visit and that makes the decision more difficult.

Ah! Good to know! All this info I memorized for teaching at Riding Camp back when I was a camp counselor! I'd give my left lung to be back teaching riding!

I came back to mention, Bluefish, I just this moment remembered that The Mummer Parade was today! Do you think they'll do a do-over for me next week?

Re: QDC - our Quick-Dry-Cafe ..... come chat!

Erm, huge apologies for ageing everyone .... guess I just want you to catch up with me!!!

C, hope Maddie got an extra carrot yesterday.

I went into the loft and decided to clear stuff out ..... threw down a number of boxes, old lamp shades, rugs and bits and pieces ...... now I need to call a Charity shop for a collection and take rubbish to the dump ..... very cathartic!
Of course, I could have painted instead!

Sorry the weather spoilt things for the New Year celebrations Colin ...... here, weve had exceptionally mild weather, calm and lovely ....... in the Scottish Highlands they recorded their highest ever December temp of 18.3C. Amazing!

Dreadful report from Australia ..... people having to take to the sea to be safe ...... I hope they get rain soon........

C, I hope your family are all safe.

Merri said she has bags packed, just in case ..... hope they aren't needed Merri.

Sheila...all you had to do is get out of bed , open the door and walk over to Broad St....the parade was at your doorstep...couldn’t have been easier to enjoy!.....

Sorry to hear your New Year celebrations were spoilt.

We actually all petitioned to have the Sydney fireworks cancelled, but the premier said the money had already been spent. !!!

Why does Total Fire Ban apply throughout the country, but not for Sydney Fireworks.... oh... the little thing called tourist money well spent.

No one in their right mind would tour any part of Aus at the moment!
Tourism Aus is very quiet at the moment even though Kylie Minogh has been chosen for the face of Aussie Tourism.

5 million hectares burnt so far
Thanks for caring Maureen, and Lady Carol, I hope you pick a nice spot to travel to... perhaps not here at the mo.

Cheers
Merri...
