WIP,Young Eyes "part of a painting", oil on canvas.

I followed the classical approach, used some notes from Practical Treatise on Painting in Oil-colours book by Thomas Bardwell. Amazing combinations of colors mixing methods and applications. I stopped when i reached a convincing realism.

The color and values work very well- a great learning exercise!

But it can be a huge discussion, loaded with questions!

Very impressive eyes. I like how you got the reflections inside them, and even in those small parts there's variety of color which fleshes out the composition even further. Great expression of the face too, invoking a sense of intrigue upon seeing this. The close up of this face also draws attention to the eyes and their expression, thereby making it the focal point. Extremely nice detail on the skin too, getting down to the finest details with the pores on the skin and the way the shadows work with them as well.
