Re: OP Classroom - Portrait
Dear Pat, Today I started a portrait of an opera singer friend with whom I often perform. I loved your advice as to measuring the spaces from eye to eye etc. etc. I have an assortment of different oil pastels , only a few really good ones. I am using a smooth paper and have doubled the dimensions of the reference photo. I read and reread every bit of your seminar. I am applying all your tips and am so very grateful for this wonderful lesson. I also loved the transfer method which worked perfectly for me. I use prismacolor pencils for just a few details . I spent a year working with them and though I enjoy their exactness, the oil pastels are so much more painterly though more difficult to manage. I am 75 years old and enjoying my new passion . maela49
