Brothers redone xpost from acrylics

50cm x 40cm acrylic on stretched canvas
I wasn't happy with the little guy's face and have repainted it three times to finally get it right

Portraiture in acrylics is very hard to adjust to, but getting easier each time.

A really great painting, Paul!
When we are painting our loved-ones we know it isn't right and just don't rest until it is- I certainly know that feeling!

Hi,

I love the skin coloring that you have here.
I've painted in acrylics and oils and seems like acrylics would be more difficult to achieve smooth skin tones.
The expression on the little ones face is priceless.
That little mouth is really great.
You did a wonderful job.

Regards,
Gay

Thank you Bethany, stressfull and then satisfying.
Thanks Gay, I find it very difficult painting portraits and avoiding muddy fleshtones. I do a lot of thin glazes and scrubbing to achieve the blends.
