Some wonderful new paintings! I just love the Mighty Oak one! That suggestion of the many trees in the background really gives it a dreamlike quality. Excellent work! Love the others, as well. You've gotten your colors back.

Thanks Jenna - I'll never lose "my color" but the monochrome ones are fun to do as well in order to get ready for Sedona.

I love these textures you get! Those three trees really balance the whole painting in a dramatic way. It's an excellent painting!

Re: Weekly Paintings - past - present & future

Monsoon Season Fires Up - 9 x 12 - alla prima - large brush - Chroma Interactive acrylics - heavy linen paper. Painterly Expressionism based on a demo by Jose' Trujillo - I somewhat changed the scene to I think make it my own.

During monsoon season a gully that is dry can with no warning fill up and form a ranging river 6-7-8 feet deep!!!! This happened in Arizona just the other day and several people as well as little children were swept away and drowned.

Super work, Richard! I like that all these colors mix into one another some. Moves the eye all around the painting. Great one!
