portrait, x-post watercolor

Hi everyone
This is my first post in Miniature Art, although I do draw / paint (usually) small.
After very long break getting back to painting... Favorite size (small) and favorite subject (faces)...
7.3x16 cm, watercolour
As close as I could get to the original with our horrible scanner.
Would be happy to hear your comments / critiques.

Re: portrait, x-post watercolor

Wonderful and expressive. The palette is so right for this.

The only critique I have is actually with the signature. I thought it was an epaulet on her shoulder when I first glanced at it. I would either move it or darken it so it's not so noticable.

I like this one a lot! You're very skilled in watercolors!

Thank you Anthony, Virginia, and Petra!
Virginia, I agree with you about my signature. But I realized it after I signed the picture. Unfortunately, I signed with white acrylic ink, so it cannot be corrected.

You could put a wash over it very carefully, letter by letter and that might fade it.

I wouldn't worry about it too much though, it's a very minor little thing.

Re: portrait, x-post watercolor

Virginia, thank you for suggestion. Watercolour doesn't want to stick to this acrylic ink, so I will take my mistake as a lesson
