Re: Scratchy Corner Jan 5th - 12th

Thanks guys and I'll be happy to post a finished image when I am done. And I actually did some scratching on the guard hairs along the dark areas and scratched it back to the tan that the board is Had to sneak some scratching in there somewhere

Re: Scratchy Corner Jan 5th - 12th

So dig this...

Last night I WAS going to start back up on my board. As I was absent mindedly thinking where to start I was fidgeting with my retractable X-Acto.

All the sudden it exploded in my hand.

No Kidding!!!!

All the guts of it exploded like a Potato Gun, Blade included. It blew out from the clicker end.(I can not find all the parts to put it back together).

So I make a hasty trip to Dick Blicks to get another one, and guess what...

Yep they aren't carrying THOSE either at my local store.

F(&^%(*$*^%#&^#&#&* GO)&*)%(&^$$^ ASSO&O*&*P&&%)*&%

With No choices I went over to Hobby Lobby, They didn't have it either.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr

They did have this which I am going to try today

It's a Retractable knife made by "Cutter Bee" for scrapbookers.
So far I DON'T like the diameter of the barrel, I LOVE the small diameter of the x-acto.

I DO like the actual blade better, there is a considerably more fine point that the retractable or a #11.

We'll see how it goes this A.M......but I'm sure I'll be heading to Utrechs for a new retractable.

At least I have this tool to glue onto the sign now.

Tapecat, that's the blade that I use. I however like the fat body, it fits my hand better than the slim ones. I got mine at Wal-mart in their fabric sewing section. I'm always looking for tools.

It did not stay sharp very long that's for sure...

I gotta give this thing a personal thumbs down.

I have seen that tool at a hobby store and thought it looked pretty good, but the price of replacement blades was a lot, so I opted not to get it.

I also feel the blade isn't stable enough. Too much wiggling going on.
