Re: Project Discussion: Black & White

Virginia I am so glad that I am not the only one with contrary equipment. A while ago my printer & computer stopped talking too. I even removed and re-installed the software but their argument must have been a doozy because that didn't work. It was an HP printer - first time I had one and it never behaved nicely, had a real drinking problem , so while my Canon inks were way more expensive the HP ran out of ink if I looked at it! I have gone back to Canon with wonderful results.

I have decided to work with graphite. I have a tin roof and this is lovely with soft rain, but had several inches in a few hours last night in the wee hours, and it sounded like the cast of 'Chorus Line' was up there practicing with hob-nail boots on! I decided that sleep was out of the question until the rehearsal was over so I got up and finished 2 cards! After Virginia's and Val's comments on looking at cards later I quickly opened my ATC tin [A prisma tin that is just the right size to hold all my goodies] and PHEW they still look OK in the cold light of day!

Re: Project Discussion: Black & White

I'll be starting later today.

All of mine will be in graphite and ATC size.

This is going to be fun, can't wait to get the pencils out and get going.

Re: Project Discussion: Black & White

This has become a really useful trade as at last I have a use for black in my watercolour palate. So I will do a few washes. It is good practice in value practice. I am off and running.

Re: Project Discussion: Black & White

Thanks Bigs, I'll check out the Canons, I haven't had much luck with HP. This one is a Lexmark but it's a drinker too. It's a liar to boot, it told me it was out of ink in February and I'm still printing fine with what is in the cartridges.
Love to take credit for the great idea but it was Hazartist's idea.
I have a couple done but I'm taking my time. My cat tried to help me with one, carried it right off. She must of liked the smell of the paint or something, the silly creature. My son found it under his bed and considering what is under his bed, that one won't be going to anyone. It looks like it has been attacked by a herd of dust bunnies! On the plus side, my son finally vacuumed under his bed.

Re: Project Discussion: Black & White

So glad that I am not the only person breeding dust bunnies .

It really makes you look at your subject when you have to work in black & white doesn't it? I am loving the challenge - have another 2 done and started on no. 9 yippee!

Re: Project Discussion: Black & White

Eileen if you think your dog makes work, try a lab. My lab must shed a whole dog's worth of hair a day. Glad I have two shed-less dogs but the grooming fees about kill my budget.

Re: Project Discussion: Black & White

You guys are so quick at this.

By the looks of it, I'll probably be one of the last to finish my cards.

I've 'almost' completed 1.

Oh, no, Toni.... I'll be the last, I think. We have company through Saturday so I haven't had any quiet creative time and don't expect any until they go. Then I'll get started...

No rush on my account, it takes me a couple of months to finish all my cards.

Re: Project Discussion: Black & White

Hidden - no rush - I am usually the slowest - took me ages on the last swaps I was in!

Marmsk - My dogs are my biggest dust bunny makers too - no keeping up with shedded hair. God thing they are small smooth coated critters!
