I just recently finished a paper sculpture that I wanted to share with you.
Fighting Fish II
Specifications: 15″ x 30″ mixed media paper sculpture
Prismacolor pencil on Canson Mi-Teintes paper, scrapbooking and gift wrapping paper for the backgroundThis is a redux of a paper sculpture I did back in 2015. I had an entirely different background in mind when I started (much darker, suggesting deep water) but seeing the orange fish against the silver really stood out to me. An accidental and unplanned ah hah! moment.
Here is the original. Same fish, different illustration:
And a wip image showing the construction of the fish:
Thanks for letting me share!

February 19, 2020 at 3:48 pm #947876I just love your paper sculptures, Rob! They are always laid out so thoughtfully, with good compositions and unique and brilliant blends of color and texture. I like both versions of this, but that dynamic pair is beautiful. Well done!
