Human eye study - realism

Hi everyone, my 1st post her on the portrait forum, as I am a wildlife artist.

I felt like trying a human eye study

this one is pastel pencils approx 4 in wide
from free ref photo.

Hope you all like it. Will be uploading a video of the process to my patreon art channel soon.

Nice work Jason. Your ability to expertly handle fur has carried over to skin.

This is great work Jason just as with your animal works. Although I think the eye looks a little naked without lashes. Not sure if they are there or that they are very light.

Jason this is like looking at a close-up photo - such realism, this is how I would like to paint when I grow up and I am eighty. Beautiful work and like that you have posted what you have done with the eye!🤗
just went on your website and found helpful tips!
