Sunset - reflections

I sketch plein air whenever I can and this is from memories of the beach at sunset, with the reflections on the wet sand.

Done on Sunday for a pastel exhibition hanging on the Wednesday - nothing like taking it to the wire!

the pale grey is actually a very pale icy blue

about 14 inches, pastel - underpainted with pastel plus water to create washes, then dry pastels over, on Fisher 400 paper

Re: Sunset - reflections

I really like the strokes in this piece. It also is on the border of being purely abstract and representational. Good choice of colour. I like this piece a lot.

I also enjoy how this is on the line of abstract/representational. Love the salmon color and the energy of the lines. Fantastic!
