It took me almost 2 weeks to finish this painting. I was afraid to start with the horse, because I didn’t have any clue how to paint it. Well, I’m not very happy with the result. May I ask for critics? What would you do better?
I used Holbein watercolors on Arches CP quarter sheet.

I think you did very well, it clearly shows the cold weather and the steam coming off the horse.

Very well painted! The mist and lighting around the horse are well done. The only suggestion I have is to tell you do more of these!

I love this just the way it is. His coat is especially effective. I can see how it might insulate him in this chilly winter evening.

Love this! No critique at all. You did put a heavy coat of horse hair on him and that works well with the theme.
