I’m experimenting and just plain having fun with these new watercolour pencils – which is also a new medium for me…in a 6″x6″ sketchbook of 140 cold press paper. The pencil tips are fat (sort of like drawing with crayons) so I’m having to use a fine tip brush to get the fine lines which I sometimes end up erasing by “mistake”. I’ve seen artists do amazing work with this medium so I’m just learning how to get the most out of it. Will post here as I go. The reference photo is mine. There’s more on my web-blog. These are the ones I’m happiest with so far – but lots to learn

you can sharpen them to get a nice fine point… of course, I like scrapping the pencils with a blade and then using the scrapings in water…

Very interesting. Have you tried spraying the work with fine droplets of water and the to use the brush?
