Red face painted mail boxes

I don't usually do things like this, but I let myself get talked into this one. Acrylic on mail box, about 10" high x 18" long. I put a couple of coats of Polycrylic on it for protection. Don't know how it will hold up. Client was tickled with them.

I've often thought about doing mailboxes (another on my "ideas to try list") what type of paint did you use? was it acrylic house paint?
