Re: 20 min. before dinner

I think what really gets me is, that if you look at everything singularly, its a lot of well done, but simple pieces, all put to gether, looks very details. and of course both the composition, and the follow through of the style, just makes this a very very well done piece even before coloring. like this a lot.

Re: 20 min. before dinner

howdy all,

Well between picking up my kids and going to get groceries and fixing Dinner and doing a few loads of laundry......Whew! what a day. i was able to ink a lil more.
Thanks for stopping in stillbill and DSPIT and God this may take forever at this rate hahaha. but here is a lil more. sorry my scanner bed has cut off some of the pic. I'll have to go to Kinko's or some where to scan it on a disc. ugh....There is actually more to this pic. On the left there is a table in the foreground with a horse in a jar. (stupid huh?) i almost put a fairy in it but thought that was too obvious. hahaha

Thumbs up Re: 20 min. before dinner

LOVE that OWL!! Well, of course, the entire picture is great ~ but OWL captures my heart!
The detail is fine, but I worry that it pulls the eye from the center figures. Maybe if the surrounding detail is fuzzed or blurred or faded down a bit ~ like the inscription on the background beam - maybe only part of the "letters" showing & faded at that. Just a thought...
On the edge of my seat for the next installment!

thanx Cart. yeah, the car stuff is fun, the pen and ink is stuff I have done forever, but with no real direction. I am working on that. I am working on a piece now that I will put in here soon, I hope to ink it tonight. I have the same issue with kids, have two,, one plays a ton of softball so I am forever in the middle of that. the youner is a gaming boy, so I gotta spend time there to. then there is work, honey do's yadda yadda yadda, lol. lucky to get ANYthing done. I would like to see the other parts of this as well, so after you get that scan be sure to add. I have the same problem, I can barely get a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet in. Its a fax/copier/scanner/photo printer thingy my wife bought.

I dont agree with ndinellh, My minds eye goes right to the old guy and then works its way out. but thats me. so this is pen and ink right? or are you doing this digitally?

I really like the way this is growing
As it's really a WIP - may I put it in the title Cart, so everyone else will notice too?

Re: 20 min. before dinner

Hahahaha, DSPIT,

I still have 4 kids at home but we have 10 all together hahahahaha man this has been a lifes experiance Can't wait to see your other installment. I'm also going to post the horse in the jar this evening. I'm at work and can't post anything from here either.

Charlie's Mum,

Sure, go ahead I'm going to keep posting to this thread as this pic grows and is finished. I'm going to color this digitally in photo shop. By the way? dose WIP mean work in progress? Man I feel stupid, I don't know all these comp. terms.

10, Geeeeeeeze. I am amazed, you have time to log on. holy cow.

yes, wip means work in progress. Folks usually like to subscribe to that so they can watch it unfold.

Re: 20 min. before dinner: WIP

latest lil addition I think the horse in the jar works. what you guys think?

I just wanted it to be something different other than a fairy or sprite or baby dragon....................................maybe an elephant?

Re: 20 min. before dinner: WIP

I like the idea. I also like the depth that putting this up front gives the whole piece. I would have been worried, the main character would have gotten lost in the background, but not so. A lot will be dependant on how you paint it. looking very nice.

Re: 20 min. before dinner: WIP

I have added a fairy outside the window and a Bg for the window also. I'll try to post some color studies this weekend. Thanks DSPIT for the comments and likeing the depth now. I too was worried it would distract from the wizard but it all works.
