I want to try rock painting so I bought a set of folkart outdoor acrylic paint but it takes many coats of paint (I started with red paint on a black rock) and I’m still not getting the bright red color of the paint when it is just squeeze out of the bottle.
Is there a better rock paint — with more pigment/hiding power?

At the very least, I would coat it with a few thin coats of gesso and then use your acrylic over top of that. Let us know how it goes as you experiment!
