kaolinite clay can be used as alternative instead of titanium for tinting paint?

Is it ok to use or does it have a low tinting strength or opacity? I have read it is a good extender for use with titanium. Was wondering as it could be a cheap alternative to titanium pigment. Have a ton of paint left over which is too dark and want to lighten it a couple of tones thought to add neat titanium pigment but is expensive.needing to add the pigment not water down further with another can of white as already have a ton of paint just is too dark .Not concerned of the quality as it will be a base coat undercoat but am work on VERY large scale mural style size soo hence needing to cheapen due to quantity

any help apreciated
