June - the darker tones are giving weight and bringing out the whites nice, the gaze is still the place of rest and wonder.....the whisps of movment to the right are a lovely tender voice.....

No mistake in my opinion. It turned out very nice. I like the use of the lines.

Re: Portaits

WOW Saluki, you have been very busy! I love the bold contemporary colourful style. It suites the modern artists' portraits, especially Picasso and Warhol. I love the pencil sketches also. The cattleman is full of character.

Re: Portaits

Thanks - glad you enjoy my efforts. This year I've been doing a series of "Homage to Artists" whose work I like and admire. Currently working on one of Carmen Herrera in gouache.

Re: Portaits: Carmen Herrera, 1950

I've beeb doing portraits of artists I like and whose work I admire. I finished the latest one this morning. It's of the Cuban-American artist, Carmen Hererra. I based it on a B&W photo taken around 1950 and used one of her early pieces as a backdrop.
Carmen Herrera - 1950, 16x20, gouache, dec 21, 2016.
