Thanks Sarah, take away the obvious errors, and its nit a bad likeness.

Your portraits are amazing.

Re: February 2020 Oil Pastel Challenge and Chat

Hello! I have not time to go in this forum this week because i spend some days with my son and my grandchildren at a ski station in the Alps: Puy Saint Vincent. But I try to go on painting with my OP.

Yes Tuscanny, I enjoy the landscape from my window (you can imagine how beautiful it was either if my drawings are fast and poor). I enjoy to be with my son and my grandsons. Like you I do not know how to ski. But I enjoy to see Théo 6 years old who can ski after 6 days of lessons!

This is a cityscape , a little street of a little city in Ardèche, France. I live near that city.

Marochette --
I really like this version. I see it as symbolic of the separation between the past (on the left) and the present (on the right). Also, there is the idea of the past overlooking the present. And the wall (which turned out to be additional buildings) dividing the past and the present.

Re: February 2020 Oil Pastel Challenge and Chat

Thanks for hosting this month with fun challenges, Sarah - so glad to see it became a productive month for fellow oil pastelists!

Sorry for not showing up for a while and my thanks to everyone commenting on my sketches: Christel, Wendy, Terri, Sarah, Mary, Rich, Marochette - thank you all!

Sarah, awesome face sketches for just 5 mins! You are so good at miniatures!

Christel, lots of lovely works, I especially liked the sunset scene, the parrot with cool background and the fluffy wolf!

Jennie, absolutely wonderful evening scene with the purple sky and glowing buildings and the highway! Also cute painting of your granddaughter dancing, you captured the movement well!

Terri, glad you felt inspired to try those single-colored people sketches! I can assure you it's much easier when you let each sketch have more space, if you try that woman and a boy on a separate A4ish sheet each, you'll be able to include twice as many details in the same 5 mins!

Marochette, really lovely landscapes, well done!

Re: February 2020 Oil Pastel Challenge and Chat

Well done everyone, particularly those who stepped out of their comfort zone!

Thanks ever so much for participating, I'm sorry I was a rubbish host this time round, I've just been so busy!

I have done six of my seven in seven days, the last one will be done today. Bit late, but I got there. They are nudes, so I'll post them in my nude threads thread rather than here.
