This is some very thorough and compelling work.

May I ask, how long did it take?

                Thanks,

It was made over a 7 month period, working 1 to 3 hours a session. I did many other art related things over that time period, ceramics, pencil, watercolor, acrylics, and other pen and inks. Having no deadline, I simply waited until I had the inclination to work on it.

                All the best,
                Terry

you know this I’m not sure if I like it or not, or know exactly what is going on in the background …. but, I love the detail and the line work … it’s strangely compelling

So many aspects to appreciate in this!
So much delicate and patient mark-making … and yes, trying to show the quality is difficult within the WC parameters, so thanks for the detail!
                    Very nice work!

                    Cheers, Maureen

                            Thanks everyone,

Still a bit bothered by this one… but after spending so much time on it, I may have simply made a habit of sitting down to it. On the other hand, I think I’m bothered by the cliff above the ruins… the form of it.

                            Finding this very motivating.

I have more paper and ink pens coming tomorrow. I’m in the mood to return to doing more texture/less pigment as in this work.

There is something very soothing to just sit down to a piece and be able to get right back into its “groove”.

i really admire what you can do.
It takes me a moment to savor the composition. then, time and time again, i keep getting lost in the finer details

Lordy Be! What an amazing composition and line work. Glad you provided the close up. Even more amazing seeing how you did this.
