February 13, 2020 at 1:07 am #483957As a general rule I don’t go looking for photo ops, and whenever I do I usually come home with an empty card.
My best shoots come looking for me as happened late Tuesday when Salina rang to say be at the aifield at 6:30am in the morning.
She had arranged a flight for me in her friend’s Canard airplane, I was chuffed and immediately began checking my kit and presetting the cameras.
I knew there would be little room in the passenger’s space for easy lens changes so I took both M1-Mkii + 8mm Fish, and M5-Mkii + 12-60mm that worked out well.
I have to say that the Canard was less than ideal as a platform for aerial photography as passenger visibility is severely restricted by large areas of wing and the pilot’s headrest
which blocks the passenger’s forward view. Only on steep banking was I able to get reasonable ground shots which were few and far between. The six images below were my best for the day.THE FLYING FISHEYE

The camera kneads the dough, PP bakes the bread - GreenhillFebruary 13, 2020 at 5:40 am #946998OMG, my stomach is doing summersaults right now.
I am not sure that I would have climbed into that plane after reading the disclaimer!
You and your fisheye proved that the earth is round.
Being excited about steep banks so you could get some good shots… Signs of a true photographer.
You were lucky to have this experience, we are lucky that you shared them with us.
Photography is the art of observation. It has little to to with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them. Elliott Erwitt

I can therefore only assume that He has other priorities and for the present at least is content to let me indulge myself in further earthly pleasures for a little while longer.
Seeing the countryside from way up there in a bubble was exhilarating. Thanks Lorell.

February 13, 2020 at 3:44 pm #947000Thanks Rich, the chalet was built in 1910, (that’s a long history on the Australian scale) it is now being restored by the government. It is a popular ski resort.

Disclaimer’s?
I know my life insurance plan for the business excluded flying. Maybe they had a reason.
I think they also excluded parachutes and bungie jumping especially the cordless versions.February 16, 2020 at 12:13 pm #947001Lucky YOU!!!

As for an insurance plan, I don’t need one, Adam. Insurance companies are a bad lot of hombres!MY FLICKR
