Bela Lugosi as Dracula

I'm a bit of an old Universal Studios monster movie buff. I always enjoyed watching, Dracula, Frankenstein, the Wolfman, etc., when I was a kid. I decided to do a drawing of Bela Lugosi as Dracula just for the heck of it. Black and white charcoal on gray sketch paper.

Thanks for looking.

Randy

Re: Bela Lugosi as Dracula

Hi Randy, the title of this work caught my eye, as I have just started to watch, and subsequently abandoned, a gratuitously unpleasant version of Dracula on the BBC. I was left thinking why do they have to try and be so clever with remakes.

Needless to say I was surprised to see you had posted it! It is wonderful! You have contradicted the famous song 'Bela Lugosi's Dead', and indeed, he is not even undead, because you have put such life into this and captured his character. Great to see you working so differently.

Thank you, Bethany! I think I might attempt more of these using other iconic "monsters". It was fun.

Thank you, Humburger!

Thank you, Trudi! Drawing was always my first love, mainly because it was what I got proficient at when in school. Painting came later for me.

'Picture perfect'. Referring not only to the portrait but the motion picture. This is admirable work.
