Kathmandu 1

It has been a very long time since I sketched with pen and ink. It is partly due to my wanting to develop watercolour skills, and partly due to the fact that my hands are no longer as steady as they were a few years ago. Still, I felt the old urge once again yesterday and decided to give it a go.
This was sketched with a Reynolds Trimax gel pen (which costs less than 50 cents ) on A5 size cartridge paper. My reference was part of a small and faded picture in an architecture book.

Re: Kathmandu 1

I think you have here a very solid work. Loose, yet nicely composed!

Re: Kathmandu 1

Love this, even though it is loose, there is lovely tone control and I love the figure with the umbrella.

Re: Kathmandu 1

Very nice! The looseness of the figures combined with the solidity of the building is so appealing. I like the outline around it too.

Re: Kathmandu 1

Nice to have you back!
I like the looseness without loss of form, nicely done! It gives the impression of a plein air piece.

Re: Kathmandu 1

I really like this. I would like to start drawing more loosely. Exactly like this. I don't think your drawing has suffered from your hands being less steady and I look forward to seeing more.

Nicely done. I love the bold pen work and dramatic shadows.
