    Hi everyone,

This is my third and newest elk sculpture. There’s an interesting challenge about blending different colors of wire into a piece to suggest color changes in the animal’s fur. I decided to make him a little bit whimsical, so he has fun pops of color by way of the beaded ornaments in his antlers. At my last art show, some thought he was a reindeer – maybe he is. :)

He measures 5 inches long by 4.5 inches tall by 2 inches wide. He’s made with dark annealed wire and copper wire. His antlers are branch-shaped embellishments, and the ornaments are tiny colored beads.

C&C welcome. Thanks for looking. :)

Nice work; I like the accuracy of the colours for the elk…and the Christmas spirit!

Thank you so much, CaliAnn! I’m glad you like the jewels – they do add a festive touch. :)

Thank you, Chammi. I’m glad you like him. He was very much liked at my November art show…but, alas, he still came home with me. That’s how it goes. :)

Thank you so much, Jon. I’m so glad you like him. :)

Thank you very much, Skipstah! I’m glad you like the look of the two types of wire. I enjoy blending them in this way for certain pieces. :)

Kay, thank you very much! He does look rather Christmassy. :)
