I’ve been working on a portrait of my grandson the last couple of weeks. He had been out finding Easter eggs on a hot afternoon. I know I neeed to ckean up some edges and fine tune some facial features… But I feel pretty good about how it’s shaping up so far. C&C welcomed! 😊😊😊

June 24, 2018 at 11:20 am #640116The portrait is wonderful, love the flush in the face and everything else. There is a shadow all the way around the head I think you should give the background some more consideration so it will support the portrait more, give it a job. Since it is just paint you can afford to play with it some.
My acrylic gallery of past paintings more to come. https://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/topic/mike-s-gallery/
June 24, 2018 at 3:40 pm #640114It looks great! Terrific expression and your light touch with the textures and drawing is just beautiful.
I feel his left contour is too far out (wide) and the shoulder on that side may be squared up along with grouping the subtle shirt lights more.
