Question about banner for web site

I just designed my web site to sell jewelry and lampwork etc... I made a free banner on-line and do not like how the site I made it on has there name on the banner. My question is how did you guys make your banners? Do I need to purchase some software or have someone make it for me? Help!!

Re: Question about banner for web site

If you made your banner through an online site, then yes, the reason you got it for free was because they are advertising by putting their name on it. That's usually what happens with freebie items. Many people, including myself, make banners using photo editing software like Photoshop to make a banner. Most computers nowadays come with some type of editing software. Shoot, you could even use MSPaint if you had to.
