I’ve decided the still life is a bit easier than a landscape in CPs.
There is a wee historic village near me with many of these “restrooms” next to historic buildings.
14×16 on Bristol vellum. Polys and Derwent lightfast.

In my neck of the woods you rarely see them without a few lilac bushes around them.July 12, 2019 at 5:35 pm #853675Thanks Jon: I was tempted to put the Crescent moon on the door, but….cliche, obvious, corny.

July 13, 2019 at 9:10 am #853676Hi Kay: Thanks so much.
I haven’t worked from a photo in years, but I do work from an excellent large computer monitor. Many artists are going this route due to more color variation and subtle shadows; also being able to manipulate the image with photo editing software is a plus.
I’m also a firm believer in a good digital camera (not phone).Website: www.artderek.com

Plus I love the grasses on the back, and I would stop for a rest between them and the dark tree.
You obviously like the new Derwents, and know how to use those colours!!!

https://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1431363July 14, 2019 at 6:10 am #853688Really like this. The trees, old stained wood of the loo and moss on the roof are so realistic. I have never lived in a place where moss grows on roofs so why does it grow only on one roof and not on all three? The materials used? Just curious? I also like the tall grass in the background on the right or is it corn. It does remind me of the cornfields here in Ontario.
VenaJuly 14, 2019 at 9:03 am #853679Vena: thanks: As mentioned above; Polys and Derwent Lightfast on Bristol vellum. Yes, a cornfield. If shingles are exposed to a lot of rain and are old they can grow a ton of mold and moss. I have to clean my own garden shed roofs every summer.
I appreciate it Vena, thanks again.Website: www.artderek.com
