August 29, 2018 at 12:29 am #683461She is so cute..
My main thought is maybe the neck and shoulder need a second look.
The neck seems a bit thick and shoulder color could be closer to the face color.~Joy~

August 29, 2018 at 4:06 am #683463A really skillful portrait!
You have made the expression more lively than the photo which looks good. I would soften the lines from nostril to edge of mouth- but really no improvements needed (apart from adjusting the shoulder as suggested)bethany

August 29, 2018 at 4:51 am #683476Hello,
Good portrait However, when I looked at it, I felt disturbed, as if she had a devilish look. After some though I think this is due to the fact that you flattened the values everywhere but on the eyes. As a result her gaze is way too intense, which I believe is the source of my feeling. I don’t think you can tone down the color of the eyes with watercolors, so maybe consider to make your overall values stronger ?
Maybe you should wait for the opinion of others before reworking it as it is just my 2 cents.

August 29, 2018 at 2:01 pm #683464You have done great job Mary- if I had to say anything – it wld be-
To discribe the round form of her forehead a little more- her little button nose us””is receiving light at its tip – the little dimple shadow under her bottom lip describes her – and maybe should be there the light is coming from above – so her neck is more in shadow .
But non the less when I look at yr portrait – I see yr little grandchild !!!yr an amazing artist ![FONT="Comic Sans MS"]Carol Sometime's failure is the opposite to success~ but sometimes failure can be the pathway to successAugust 29, 2018 at 2:16 pm #683468thanks!

I wouldn’t lose that red flower at her neck.
I don’t remember where I read this but you can try to paint it on a piece of cellophane covering your canvas just to be sure that you like it there.facebook.com/SimonaBunaPaintings
