Fantasy/Sci-Fi Monthly Challenge MARCH - Dryads!

Thanks so much for the comments everyone I've been refining the Tree Dancers for a while now, and they are starting to work rather nicely, I think.

FWIW I alway use photo references in my sustained drawings. And I have a library of my Lady's face from different angles and expressions so she can grace all my Tree Dancers (she says that so long as I visualize her face while looking at photos of nude models then everything is ok).

This next one is like a variation on a theme. Which I am perfectly ok with so long as something is being honestly tried out. Again, the proper scan will come in good time. Again, the title may change.

One last one to slip under the wire. I've been busy the last while in the hotel room here in Kuwait City while my Lady is working. Tomorrow it's back to Canada and the day-to-day that eats up art time. But I can get the work scanned properly and then tucked into frames

This last one should be called the three sisters. Very nice. But the one just above it has such gentleness. I'd love to have a loving tree like that in my yard!! It still amazes me how you do the trunks at the bottom at their legs. They are so real.

Yay! My first art post and my first time participating in a challenge...combined!

This is a watercolor on Arches 140lb, coldpress. I was following a tutorial by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law. C&C welcome.

My apologies about the blurring in the upper left, the wire binding doesn't allow the book to lay perfectly flat on the scanner. I tried photographing it, but the white balance on my camera is approaching death and the painting didn't look right.

lapine, I think this dryad got to be a friendly one even though she has long fingers. Nice interpretation of her head. Hope you will post often.

I am so glad that comes through, the emoting. I want to take these Tree Dancers to the next level of connection, where they are not just clever, but also work that a person feels some emotional reaction or response to when spending time with them.
