I love it Irfan. Really like that you're also putting hair texture in the white areas of the zebra. It would be good without that, no doubt, but the texture gives it the extra "zing"! And do I see a vein on his belly? Nice detail.

Re: "The Pioneer" - Zebra WIP

Thanks again everyone!! Your comments are brilliant!!

Yip Ann there is vein!!

I hope I don't let you down with the background. The left side of the background is near enough finished and I hope to create the illusion of pushing it back further with the addition of foreground. Hopefully it will all work out. I am feeling that boredom bug with this piece so have layed off it a little before I go ahead and ruin it.

With all those stripes no wonder the boredom bug bit! It's looking very good though!

Re: "The Pioneer" - Zebra WIP

Thanks Lorna!

Well I am finished!!!

Not the best photo of it but I will try again!

I wanted it to look like the zebra was emerging from a barren land, with those dry trees, searching for food, with the grass in front.

Was I successful?

As always all C and Cs are welcome!!

Thanks for looking and I hope you like it.

Irfan--this is amazing and I think you've succeeded in your vision. You must see zebra stripes in your sleep. Beautifully done young man.

Re: "The Pioneer" - Zebra WIP

Thanks Harry and Diane! I am glad you like it!

I really do not like this picture, I am going to attempt to take a better one tomorrow.

I have already started to plan out my black jaguar.

Re: "The Pioneer" - Zebra - FINISHED

Can I be the fly in the ointment? The zebra is truly brilliant but I confess I don't really understand the background - the light area behind the trees. I'm not sure what that is and the two separate areas don't read as a unified background because the horizontal lines aren't on the same angle. Do you see what I mean or am I reading too much into it? To me, it actually doesn't look finished yet. Hope that's not a dampener
