My Dad used to paint using only Umber and white. I always have liked the effect. This painting though is Sap green, umber, prussian blue and white. It is dark but is it too dark? I am open to any and all suggestions

Personally i like it as it is.It's not a twee chocolate box type scene it resembles living outside in all weathers to me.
Don't forget we don't know what the exposure from the camera is like + we are all looking on different monitors and set ups

Personally I would never go past a value 7, white being one. Except for accents, wet rocks etc. Past 7 we lose a sense of color. Check it for yourself. Wait till it dries and put a piece of plastic wrap over it. Make temporary changes on the plastic and see what you think. I think you will like it better a little lighter. The dark will be a perfect shadow color for lighter green etc.

I'm trying to figure out what is by the tent?
The darks seem too dark to me.

I think a hint of the tent & hint of grassy bank would be reflected in the water.
I mentioned the sky & mountain in your other thread.
