Long time no post-portrait of my bf and I wip

Hi everyone, I havent posted on wetcanvas in quite a while, but just had some time on my hands recently and decided to do a surprise portrait for my boyfriend of him and I.
It's about 5x 5 inches on bristol board, approximatley half an hour into it. I'll try to keep this updated!
sorry about the quality, its much smoother in RL, my scanner isnt the greatest!

Thank you Cara, I always have trouble with smoothness in my graphite drawings and it continually bugs me..I think I may need different paper. I'm also not so great at realistic hair..I added a bit more, I'm hoping I can smooth it all out when done.

Re: Long time no post-portrait of my bf and I wip

didnt do too too much more, im having trouble with the left side of his eye/face because the reference photo cuts off there..what do you think I should do? should I wing it and try to add the rest or should I just keep that part cropped out and when I frame it, it may look ok?

I think you should try to wing it and get the other eye in there for a more complete look.
