The reference photo said this was a young sparrow, but I’m not convinced.
Pencil on Bristol board.

I think you need more layering for the result you are expecting… look at Ken’s techniques in drawing and sketching forum… he gives great advice how to build depth in graphite.Federico Garcia

It’s difficult to say if it’s a young ‘un’ or not as I can’t see if there is the typical yellow gap on the beak. But the female house sparrows do have a white eye stripe so it could be an adult female. Paul
