Re: Quick-Dry-Cafe February 2013
April, it is my job to break the WC website. But, if it makes you feel better, you can take credit this time! LOL
Life this week has been crazy. I have had appointments every day this week, several are emergency appointments putting out fires. Had another major issue this week with my health. Today I have a 9:30 and a 2:30 but the latter is 50 miles away. So, another busy day. In between I have 3 more paintings to do for the Airstream ladies, and I want them out of my hair ASAP including my sister.
I have Swiss chard that I can start picking. The leaves look so tender compared to what I get in the market. The leaves are now about 12 to 15" long. I now have planted in the garden, onions, spinach, lettuce, snow peas, broccoli, chard and eggplant. I have tomatoes started but not quite ready for transplant just yet.
Cut two new stencils yesterday and taught in the afternoon. Cleaned up the studio a bit and did some rearranging. This treatment I am getting is supposed to make me lethargic and yet I seem to be chugging along at a good pace, maybe it is shear will.
Also got in my bike ride yesterday morning.

Swiss Chard is soooo good for you. Love it in home made soups.

Re: Quick-Dry-Cafe February 2013
I have been eating it for over a year after trying collards, mustard, and a bunch of other greens. Chard hits the spot and with a touch of white wine vinegar overtop, it is amazingly good. I have it several times a week.
Carol, please give my regards to the Wizard if you see him.
Getting ready to head out. Busy day today. Lots of travel.

Re: Quick-Dry-Cafe February 2013
Love Swiss Chard too , creamed with little bits of fried bacon and onion mixed into it. Yummy. Enjoy your day Howard. Hope the weather is lovely for the bike ride.
Must admit, Maureen, I packed two extra boxes whilst the site was down. Wish I could see your daffodils. Can't wait for Spring. In our new home we will be living near to big farming meadows where Dandelion are never cut until they are allowed to flower profusely. It is the most stunning sight.
Going out to dinner tonight with friends. Will make a change from thinking up something to do with the last bits and pieces in the freezer and the grocery cupboard. Takes more creativity than producing a painting!!!
Chat again. Warm hugs for you all.

Re: Quick-Dry-Cafe February 2013
Hi everybody. I, too, was banned for a couple of days. I thought it may have been something I said, but then I remembered I hadn't posted anything lately.
Howard, I'm envious that you're able to get out and work in your garden. The ground here is still way too wet to do anything with and, with the cool days we're having, the seed wouldn't germinate anyway.
We're in the process of buying a new home after having rented for a year after selling our last home. It's been a marathon of loan apps and submittal of tons of paperwork, but we seem to be nearing the end of it and should be closing by the end of the week. Then comes the joy of moving all of our possessions (or do they possess us?) to the new place. I'm tired already just thinking about it. We're excited about our new home, however, so we'll persevere.

Re: Quick-Dry-Cafe February 2013
So Rick, you're a couple of months behind Chammi in the Packing Stakes! Good luck with all of that - I think I'd need an army if we ever move/moved from here! Perish the thought!
It'll be lovely for you though when all is settled and you can get the place as you'd like it.
We've had a lovely couple of days with glorious blue sky - still cold ....... ah but it lifts the spirits and feel as if spring is nearly here.
Hmm - don't think I've ever had chard - must see if it's available here.

Re: Quick-Dry-Cafe February 2013
Supposed to get down into the 30's here over the weekend. Need to cover up some of the more tender plants I guess. I have a blue iris about to go into bloom, sure hope it doesn't burn that blossom. It is the first blue iris to bloom in my yard ever.
The last appointment of the week is this afternoon at 3:00 PM. This week has been nothing but appointments and teaching. I have had the time to cut two new stencils and prep a piece of paper for painting. Not even had much time for bike riding. Going to try and get out for a bike ride today.
10 PM last night I got a phone call from my neighbor, her husband had fallen in the bathroom and she couldn't get him off the floor. So off I went. He is a good sized man, 6'3" and around 200 pounds. He was jammed in between the water closet and the wall. It was truly tricky. His wife is a small woman
Have been on an office supply binge recently. They put a new Office Depot in about 3 miles from the house. I have a Staples less than 2 miles and now an Office Depot 3 miles, I am in such deep doo doo.
Going to get my bike ride in this morning and try and work in the studio for a bit. I need the time out there.
