my 1st posting in here

Also my 1 exhibit. I walked into a gallery in the very wealthy town of Potomac Village Md. Just out side Washimgton DC and asked if I could share my work with the owner. After looking over my painting the owner said; if you would like to show with us I can give you a wall in the summer show , 9 Weeks. I told her "if" ! Yes I would love to. So I have a wall and I will be sharing the opening with a well known abstract artist who usually sells out. I have not shown since college 35 years ago when I took 1st place in a show against The Corcron school in DC and 2 colleges in the area.

Right after college I got married , raised 3 sons, developed a high end conservation , art and antiques studio in the DC area.

So now at 58 I feel I am settled down a bit and can start up an old flame and go for the gusto.

The shows opening is the 15th of June.

Wish me luck. You can see my work in "animal art" thanks

That has to be nerve racking after 35 years. Congratulations and best of luck!

Re: my 1st posting in here

I have thought more then once in the past 2 weeks about just dropping it all. But something this time is pushing me , that inner voice that give you drive to reach a goal.
I received an email from the gallery owner this morning giving me info and telling me she has been bragging on me. That was a lift.

That's great, I tell you there's been a few times I've quieted that voice and kicked myself afterwards for it!
I was looking at your wolves, I'll bet that gallery owner is over the moon, your work is beautiful.

Hi Dave,
It's nice to meet you. I'm happy to hear about your exhibit opportunity and if the gallery owner is excited about you - then don't let yourself give it up. You will do fine and this is an exciting opportunity!

Re: my 1st posting in here

Kate I'm not sure how over due I am. I Kind of stopped looking to show after some major rejections a number of years back then this just opened up. Sort of like if you love someone enough you'll let them go and if it were ment to be they will be back. Well I let it go.
