Hello everyone
Thought I’d have a go at painting something at speed. This didn’t take long and I know it is a bit rough round the edges. However I like it enough to perhaps have another try with just a bit more finesse! 15×11 in.

December 9, 2019 at 9:10 pm #916896Well done, Mike! Keep up the great work!
I’m not sure what “at speed” means. I’ve found recently that limited painting time really forces me to focus on what is important. Perhaps it’s similar.
Cheers!

December 10, 2019 at 2:18 am #916891Frank, Kate, Bill, Patrik & Dhana – thank you.
I suppose it took me about an hour and a half to paint plus 15 minutes to roughly sketch the scene. You can see that my boats are pretty crude and in the background just ‘indicated’. I would absolutely love to be able to paint like Tim Wilmot but I’m not there yet!
Usually watercolours take me a little longer. However, yesterday I was full of cold with a sore throat and really felt lousy – so much so that all I felt like doing was to sling paint around! They say painting is very therapeutic and it’s true – I forgot how rough I felt.
