Re: KIUAN Exercise 17 — Draw! Wash! and Ink!

That certainly is neat work Sara, must admit that I just couldn't cope with the vast amount on this Site so I have so far restricted myself to just a couple of threads otherwise there wouldn't be any time left to paint!

I think restricting your exploration to a couple of threads will mean you are missing out on what wetcanvas has to offer.

Browse the whole site and find things which interest you. If you want to restrict yourself to watercolours you may als want to check out the Demos, Handbook, FAQ and Classes links in my signature.

Lovely work, Sara. Enjoy your explorations. Ditto to what Doug has recommended.

Places to start your wanderings here in the Watercolor Forum might be the Monthly Classes and KIUAN Exercises (as you've already discovered). When you put your work in the thread, it will bring it to the top and maybe inspire others to try it out as well.

Re: KIUAN Exercise 17 — Draw! Wash! and Ink!

Yes good advice above, I certainly did that for over a year, worked my way through all the free Webinar sessions, mostly by Johannes Vloothuis on ImproveMyPaintings.com which turned out to often be 3 to 4 hours (officially 2 hours) every Saturday and Sunday evening for quite a time, along with others, occasionally all day on a Sunday with real time actual classes if you can stick at it!

I will try anything that is free!

But once you have done all your research, I would limit your time on here otherwise you will get nothing done!

Good luck, pace yourself and above all have fun.

David

doug, that's a beautiful rendering of the church and cemetery. curious did you freehand all the straight lines, or use a straight edge of sorts?

I definitely used my rolling ruler for the straight pencil lines the freehanded the ink.
