Finally making a little progress on this. The white beside her left eye is due to making an adjustment. That eye needs repositioned Sorry for the glare on both photo and painting. I'm somewhat concerned about the darkness behind her, esp beside her arm. It started out as dark green. That was overpainted with ivory black to help get the form better, then I added thalo red rose in some areas and ultramarine blue to others on the wet black, hoping to give it more life. Is it too dark? Did it work? The right side of her face needs to go quite a bit more gray, too.

Contrast attracts the eye, so I would ultimately reduce the contrast in the lower left by either lightening the background, darkening the sweater, or both.

That's my opinion, which, of course, can be ignored!

Thanks, Don. You're right. Making that dark beside her arm less dark will help. How do you suggest I do that? --I'm serious, what is the best way to do that? The sweater color is too bright. The hue needs to be more dull. I'm thinking of trying zinc white, alizeron crimson, and ultramarine blue.
