PC, great info and the photo is amazing. I meant that I like that you do the research and I just have to click on the links. I don't have to search and go through info I'm not interested in. You make it easy! Thanks. Lazy learning.

Thanks, Joan. I thought this morning that with the tart grapes it might help to add tequila and salt! Have fun in Philidelphia!!

Ai, have a great time! Family time is important!

Beautiful day to sketch on the porch in the big book with Prismacolor 03 and Chisel.
Number 3, sunglasses
Number 4, something with buttons

I was so happy with this until I went to take the photo. The sunglasses are huge. Just pretend the shirt is for an infant! It is red and white.

Ai, have a great trip!

Jo, great sketch of the shirt and sunglasses...a perfect combo. I will just pretend that you folded it small intentionally.

These are from my Philly sketches.
5 - something with wheels - watercolors and ink
6 - a figure - direct watercolor
7 - art tool
8 - made from metal (lamp post) - watercolors and ink

Re: Scavenger Hunt #590 - June 5 - June 13

I am back at home after a few day over my faculty annual seminar. I got a few sketches there. I wish I had more time to sketch people at the beach.

#1 a figure -- I had my foot massage, she was my massager.

#2 rocks -- stone wall at the hotel garden...done with directwatercolor

#3 related to travel -- I saw those ladies in the ocean far away...done with directwatercolor

#4 made of wood -- the ceiling lamp, also at the massage place

Joan and Ai — Welcome home, and thanks for sharing your travels with us 😍 I love that I can live vicariously through you, and I've come to look forward to your trips. Seeing where you've been through your sketches and photos is one of the great pleasures of my life these days!!!

Joan — It's good to hear you're getting your sketchbook treasures printed up! Amazing sketches from your trip! Love the surprisingly (to me) rustic scene in the first one, and the figure is excellent. Love her hair! The last one really wow'd me. Not only are the colors gorgeous against the backdrop, but the whole towering scene is powerful.

Jo — I'm glad you like the links I love to read about space and stars and all that stuff!!! About your new sketch, I agree with Joan. In fact, I actually thought it was folded small just from looking at your excellent sketch because it looks like you folded it well before the sleeve seams. Beautifully done, lovely graceful lines. Love how you brought the flowers out.

Ai — Wow, a foot massage! I've never had one but I bet it felt good 👣I can't stop looking at your rock painting. Gorgeous watercolor work! Capturing the mass of stone in something as tenuous as watercolor seems like an impossible task, but you have truly done it! Fantastic lights also, and great sketch of a difficult geometry. Love the ocean conversation (including the title).

Joan, your sketches look so lively and effortless. Love the umbrellas and the figures, especially the sketcher. Fun food truck.

Ai, like Pine Cone, I love traveling with you. The lamp and rocks are so well done. The conversation is a conversation starter! The masseuse is fun, too.

Pine Cone, thanks. We are so much on hold with our daily runs to Austin, that about all the reading I do is here. Thanks for that. We watched Space Cowboys again in the last couple of days. Some great space photos in the movie.

Again, on the porch with Prismacolor 01 (about out of ink and nib) and some Inktense added after the fact. In the big book, so not good to get too wet. Beautiful morning after thunderstorms last night. Cooler today, too.

Number 5, landscape - off porch looking southwest.

Ai, I'm glad you were able to find time to do some sketching while you were away. Nice sketch of the masseur. I don't know if I would be able to concentrate while someone was massaging my feet. lol Bravo, you did quite a few direct watercolor sketches. The one of the ladies in the pool made me smile.

Pine Cone, thanks so much. I was glad to see the yellow umbrellas near City Hall so I didn't have to just do architecture. They softened the scene a bit.

Jo, thank you. I think your thunderstorms are headed here. It was overcast this morning and drizzling since. Glad you had nice weather to sit out on the patio and draw that peaceful scene.

Thank you so much Joan. Those ladies were actually in the sea... I was stealth sketching them from the high point of the hotel pool lounge chair.

Jeanne, "J", so happy to see your sketch here. They are always wonderful and full of fun stuff. Love the teddy bear and the Mickey car and the ...... oh and don't forget the mug! I love cows.

Hi to all the rest. The big storms missed our area, we had lightening and booming thunder. Some folks in Bastrop and to the northwest of town had trees down and roof damage from wind. Yikes! We are fine. Gene gets his battery turned on on Thursday!

More sketching on the porch. About 71 degrees this morning, quiet, no wind, perfect. In the big book with a new Micron 02.

Number 6, glass - Mason jar wine glass (bubba or redneck wine glass)
Number 7, metal - a shaker for a personal martini

Jeanne, it is so good to see one of your scavenger hunt creations and look for the objects you list. I miss seeing these!

Jo, so glad the nasty weather bypassed you. Good luck to Gene! Can you mix up a drink for me to have in the redneck wine glass?

I caught myself before I cut the watermelon up into smaller pieces this morning.
9 - fruit - watercolors
