Scavenger Hunt #575: Feb 5 - 13

Scavenger Hunt #575: Feb 5 - 13

Welcome to the hunt!!

If you've participated in at least one Scavenger Hunt and have time to host one we would really appreciate it. You can sign up by posting your name on the current hosting schedule in the Art From Life forum here:
http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=366347

Here are the rules for the hunt:

*All items on the list must be sketched from life - not imagination or photo reference.

*Each object you draw can count for only one item on the list, no matter how many shapes/parts/colors that object contains. This was agreed on by unanimous vote among the participants.

*You may place multiple objects together in a drawing or painting, and may count these objects as separate items, but no single object can count for more than one item.

*All items posted must be numbered. Count them as you go. The first item you post will be #1 regardless of its place on the list. Do them in whatever order you wish, but count them in the order in which you sketch them, from 1 to 26.

Do as many or as few of the items as you like. You don't have to finish the entire list to participate. The Scavenger Hunt "week" will last for 9 days, with the next hunt starting on the 9th day.

Please tell us your size, surface, medium, and the amount of time it took you for each sketch. We love hearing about your subjects and setups. Photos of your subjects are welcome.

*** If you have some hunt sketches completed but little time to read/comment, please post your sketches anyways. Commenting is appreciated but not necessary.*

White Pen nice list, virtually everything I own is from the 1990 or earlier so this should be an easy list for me.....

Heya

JF nice your drawing , hope it isnt out of the movie the crawling hand A plus the color scale.
Im not much in watercolor since a year back (#MyMonocolorphase) , Tip: But in general a blood vessels keep a violet tone and there are some... If you go after realistic deep skin tone in watercolor .
Hand , forearm etc. a violet or green , yes green can be handy as first layer but soft in touch ...

m50paul

love do see you 90-ties Type idem keeper , iv´e to kids out of 90..... and be the keeper of all there old stuff...

Cheers W.P. ...found out , iv´e do to some of the drawings soon ...

Thanks for the tip, Adding to my watercolor notes. Was not going for realistic just a mix that looks like a caucasian skin tone. Looking at my own skin I think it needs a wee touch of red yet. When get beyond beginner I will try your tips.

Thanks
Joe

Joe: Those skin tones look pretty darn good to me, nice job! I did some pencil sketches at the beach and as soon as I find my sketch book I have at least one sketch for this hunt. Just need to find where I put that sketch book

Re: Scavenger Hunt #575: Feb 5 - 13

EP, Jo, Scatty, Paul - Thank you all for encouraging comments.

Jo - Nice digital!

Paul - Nice beach theme. Shells and beach goers. More fun to sketch on vacation eh?

2 poseable skeleton - I do not have a poseable skeleton so subbed manikin. Sketched in pencil than added watercolor. All shades of yellow ochre. Toying with idea to add pen but kind of like the look as is.

Keep sketching
Joe

Joe: Thanks ... Nice job on manikin. I agree the pencil and watercolor look good as is... On my balcony there was a tree plant so... substituted this for flowers...

Paul - The perspective is excellent! Did you paint direct in wc or sketch it first? I keep looking at the perspective...awesome
