Monthly Project Themes

Okay, I'm starting a new thread specifically for monthly project theme ideas. I'll see if I can get it made a sticky, and this way as folks come up with new theme ideas, they can add them here. Then I'll choose a few at random from the list every month for people to vote on for the monthly project! So keep throwing out those ideas here in this new thread, and I'll start another new thread for voting soon.

Amy

The themes we've had suggested so far:

The Arthurian Legends
The Sidhe Court (the Fae of the British Isles)
Illustrations of the Valdamar Novels

Dragons
Things that go Bump in the Night
The Chronicles of Narnia
fleshing out other worlds (what would the plants and animals look like, what about the climate and weather. How about what would the sky look like from that planet at night)

cyborgs - (organinc beings - animals faries etc - mixed with inorganinc materal - wires, cogs wheels etc.)

I'm up for all of them

I like all the topics and have an interest in 99.999% of those listed, they are what I draw from when I get stumped for an idea.

Here are a few of mine:

"under the sea"

"Arabian Nights, Arabian days"

"Nightmares and Dreams"--choose and express or illustrate one of your most terrifying, disturbing, disgusting Nightmares, or one of your most pleasant, happy, exciting Dreams. (note: choose your own adjective)

"Backwards" --choose a common (or uncommon) mythlogical or fantasical concept and reverse it. Ex: Centaur (head and torso of Human, hindquarters of a horse)=> Rautnec, (head of horse, body of human). OPTIONAL CAVEAT: Your reversal CANNOT result in a creature or being that already has existence in an other mythological cannon.

Here are a few ideas.

Fantasy homes (ex... tree house.. hobbit hole.. cavernous home.. etc)

Humorous monsters (either monsters who look funny or are doing something amusing.. like godzilla doing the dishes)

magic users (from witches to wizards to cleric to druids to what ever)

make yourself into a Role playing character

magic meets technology

PUNish creations (razor backed hog.. a hog with razors for its back, blood ruby.. a ruby that bleeds... etc)

Beauty and the Beast (pretty Woman or handsome Man with a beast of some kind OR the woman or man is part beast)

I know there is one underway about nightmares and dreams, but what about Phobias, only bigger and more out of control. Like the mother of all phobias.
Giant man eating spiders,
Falling out of a plane that's trying to eat you...
the number 13 chasing you with huge nails and teeth.
I don't know.
and no I am not on drugs....<-------------Not a suggestion either.
BTW....why don't we have more smiles to choose from????

Everyone keeps saying "I'm not drunk" & "I'm not on drugs" & I am not advocating anyone being that way,... But how about this one, Flashback, The Psychedelic 60s

That's cool. I was in jr high at the time and living in San Francisco. I never did drugs or any of that stuff, I moved to Mississippi at the end of '68 so I was in Ms in '69 and in the 10th grade. Although there were plenty of drugs in Ms.. I still didn't do any thing, or hardly even drink. I was such a dull girl.
Now the only drugs I take are the one's the doc gives me and they're just for my blood pressure...ha.
I think psychadelic would be fun.

Yay Labyrinth! I also like the backwards mythological creatures and phobias ideas! Something new and fresh to get the creativity flowing!
