the single track lane down to Porth Nanven, one of my favourite places.
approx 3ft wide (currently in exhibition so can’t double check), rough underpainting in acrylic, finished in oil on deep canvas

November 4, 2019 at 6:51 am #903774This is my favorite of yours to date Vivien! It must be incredible to see in person at that scale. I love the way you painted the foreground rocks and grasses as well as the variation in wave pattern hue and perspective. It really takes the eye back into this lovely scene. Well done and congrats on the show!

November 4, 2019 at 8:22 am #903768thank you there’s a 5ft x 2ft canvas in another show but I didn’t have time to photograph it finished before handing in. Will photograph when I go to to see it hung.

November 4, 2019 at 12:23 pm #903778I like the panoramic view. The feathery brushstrokes and delicate to intense coloring work very well, giving it an impressionist flavor. Very nicely painted.

Winston Churchill.November 4, 2019 at 8:53 pm #903776Great job with the acrylic underpainting. I do it the same way with my oil paintings. The color variations do a great job at keeping everything looking natural and polished, so that the simple elements in the picture actually have depth and substance to them thanks to the underpainting and the diverse array of colors used for everything.

It’s a very narrow road, one car’s width and you keep your fingers crossed that you don’t meet someone coming the other way it means someone reversing to a passing place along a lane with drops and rocks each side.

November 7, 2019 at 6:40 am #903779Wow…this is beautiful and I too and always drawn to the panoramic formatting. Your depth and contrasts work beautiful in this piece.
I love the way you have painted the water with subtle gradations … just a gorgeous composition.

November 8, 2019 at 10:53 am #903777Wonderful and it enticed me to look at your website. I love wild coastal scenes and you have done this place justice. The dark brooding sky, turbulent ocean and wind blown grasses make a great painting. Pity I don’t live nearby where i could sea the original painting. The letterbox view works great too.
November 9, 2019 at 10:19 am #903773That’s beautiful Vivien! Love all the varied colors in the sea and the foreground grass. Just lovely.
