Re: Fantasy and Sci-Fi Art Monthly Challenge and Chat! July 2017

Quite jiggling the calendar, today went too fast!

We're supposed to be up to 96F (36C) this week and that's not counting the humidex. My, my, my, that's a bit warm.

Don't forget the Solar Eclipse on the 21st, if you're in its path. There's a map here on NASA's website where you can see how much of it will affect you.

No calendar jiggling, I need time!

Virginia, that's good stay-indoors-with-the-air-conditioner-and-paint weather. lol

Today is a bit cool and breezy, which is good because I really need to cut the grass which takes me a few hours.

It feels cool out again today. I picked the wrong week to paint. I bet when I'm done and want to do outdoor projects it will be hot again. I will be going out this morning to weed though. Those darn things just won't stop.

Are you getting the smoke from the BC fires at all? I had heard that Winnipeg saw some of it. What a shame that all is.

It's dripping hot outside. It rained but it was turning to mist as it hit the ground. Yuck.

I think I may start my challenge anew, I'm not liking the direction it took.

I haven't noticed any smoke. It has gotten hotter over the last couple of days.

I think mine is done. I hope it is suitable for the theme though in a kind of indirect way.

Just realized it's the reveal day for the acrylic challenge. Maybe see some of you over there?

Yes my non dominate hand did something, and I actually sort of liked it.

Re: Fantasy and Sci-Fi Art Monthly Challenge and Chat! July 2017

We are enjoying our trip to see the family and friends.
So far we have been to the Natural History Museum and in the Astronomy section the first thing they ask is "Do you have plans for the Solar Eclipse?" Yes we do! My husband and I are going to Jefferson City, Mo and my sons family is going to somewhere in Nebraska as Casper, Wyoming has become crazy! I requested time off work and was approved for the 21 and 22 six months ago. They also had a special exhibit "Vikings" that was great.
Last night we went to Shakespeare in the park (it was in a red rock amphitheater in the CU Campus in Boulder.) It was very entertaining, they had plants in the audience and it was a somewhat interactive production of Julius Ceasar.

Cool, Diana. My college English profs listed "Julius Caesar" as one of Shakespeare's "Problem plays," along with Macbeth and I forget what others. I certainly agree.

Re: Fantasy and Sci-Fi Art Monthly Challenge and Chat! July 2017

My mother and I celebrate the Idea Of March. We send things back and forth like cards we make and presents that have to do with Rome or Caesar.

I had a teacher named Mr. Hogue, rhymes with vogue. He once got on top of his desk to give us the "Friends, Romans, Countrymen!" speech. He was very elderly and we were so worried he would fall off!

I put the 21st but I meant in August for anyone I confused.

Glad you're having a good time, Diana!

Sounds like you're having a great time Dianna.

We have no plans for the eclipse lol. I wonder if maybe there will be something online for people who don't live in the right area.
